Maggi Ahmed, MD, PhD

Dr. Ahmed is an internationally trained dermatology consultant who has made original contributions of major significance to the field. Her work has led to a greater understanding of surgical management of vitiligo and the immunological underpinnings for successful long-term surgical outcomes. She has successfully earned her clinical and translational PhD degree in dermatology, in surgical grafting of vitiligo, from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Her areas of interest include procedural dermatology, Mohs surgery and laser. Dr. Ahmed’s work has developed cutting-edge surgical treatments for patients with pigmentary skin disorders. Due to the significant impact of her work, she received the Skin of Color Society Research Grant Award, among other awards. Her original findings have appeared in leading, peer-reviewed journals in the field. Dr. Ahmed is an editorial reviewer for multiple national and international dermatology journals.
