Ashley Wysong, MD, FAAD
Professor and Founding Chair

Dr. Ashley Wysong is a nationally recognized Mohs micrographic surgeon, a cancer epidemiologist and translational skin cancer researcher, and a dedicated mentor. She obtained her master’s degree in epidemiology at Stanford University and her medical degree at Duke University where she was valedictorian. She completed her dermatology residency at Stanford University and served as chief resident.  and her fellowship in procedural dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery at Scripps Clinic. Dr. Wysong has a broad background in clinical, translational, and outcomes-based research in high-risk squamous cell carcinoma and has a special interest in identifying novel genetic mutations and risk factors in skin cancer patients with skin of color.

DiAnne S. Davis, MD, FAAD

Dr. DiAnne Davis completed her dermatology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where she served as chief resident. While in residency Dr. Davis was influential in coordinating the first Skin of Color Symposium helping to promote awareness of the unique features of skin of color from both a medical and cosmetic dermatologic viewpoint. Following residency, Dr. Davis completed a cosmetic dermatology fellowship. Dr. Davis is actively involved in organized medicine and passionate about mentorship. She is a published author and the Co-Founder of Sunblock Kids which helps to bring awareness about the importance of sun protection at an early age.

Nkanyezi N. Ferguson, MD, FAAD, FACMS

Dr. Nkanyezi N. Ferguson completed her dermatology residency and Fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the University of Iowa. Her surgical focus is on cutaneous oncology and surgical reconstruction; clinical and academic interests include general dermatology, skin of color, and global dermatology. Dr. Ferguson served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Graduate Medical Education at the University of Iowa and is the outgoing chair of the American Academy of Dermatology’s Diversity Committee. She is a recipient of  the AAD’s Presidential Citation Award and National Minority Quality Forum’s 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health Award.

Rebecca Vasquez, MD, FAAD

Dr. Rebecca Vasquez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She also serves as the Director of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the Department of Dermatology. She is the Co-director for the AAD Diversity Champion Workshop.
