Dr. Ronda Farah

Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia, Skin Discoloration and Chemical Peels: Results from a Chart Review

Ronda Farah, MD, FAAD, is nationally and internationally recognized for her expertise in dermatology. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota. She previously served as Director of Medical Dermatology at the University of Minnesota Health Maple Grove Clinics and as the Cosmetic Lead for University of Minnesota Health.

Dr. Farah has special interests in energy-based medicine, hair loss, and social media. She completed her medical education at the University of Minnesota Medical School and her dermatology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She has published numerous articles, many focused on alopecia and technology.

She is a former board member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and Association of Academic Cosmetic Dermatology and currently serves as an American Academy of Dermatology Social Media Ambassador. She is the founder and CEO of Alluma Dermatology PLLC and practices in Medina, Minnesota.

Dr. Maria Hordinsky

Hair Loss Updates in Skin of Color

Maria Hordinsky, MD, is the R.W. Goltz Professor and former Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she served as chair from 2001 to 2024. She is recognized for her expertise and research in hair diseases and the peripheral nervous system as it relates to hair follicle biology.

Dr. Hordinsky is a member of the boards of directors of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Scarring Alopecia Foundation and is actively engaged in clinical and translational research. She is a recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and has authored more than 300 publications.

She regularly lectures and teaches on hair diseases and divides her time among patient care, clinical research, teaching, and research administration.

Dr. Seaver Soon

Chemical Peels and Skin of Color

Seaver Lee Soon, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon and cosmetic dermatologist with expertise in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Integrity, partnership, and putting patients first guide his approach to clinical medicine.

Dr. Soon graduated summa cum laude from the Arts and Science Programme at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He completed his medical degree at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University and his dermatology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, where he later served in the Division of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery for 11 years.

Dr. Soon is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, International Immunosuppression and Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative, and International Peeling Society.

He serves as co-chair of the International Peeling Society Scientific Program Committee and is a past president of the organization. He also serves as a mentor for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Future Leaders Network and on the board of directors of the International Immunosuppression and Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative. He is the founder of The Skin Clinic, where he practices in San Diego, California.
