Alexey Belkin, MD
Program Director, National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, National Institutes of Health
Dr. Belkin is the Director for Skin Repair, Pigmentation, and Appendages Program at the NIAMS/NIH. Previously, he served as the Scientific Review Officer for Arthritis, Connective Tissue, and Skin Study Section at the CSR/NIH. Earlier in his career, Dr. Belkin researched Cell-ECM Interactions and Integrins during his role as Principal Investigator and as a Faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Daphne Chan, PhD
Head of Dermatology Medical Affairs, Janssen Immunology
Dr. Chan has nearly 19 years of clinical development and medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is currently the Head of Dermatology Medical Affairs at Janssen Immunology. She is responsible for leading a team of clinicians and scientists who conduct Phase 3/4 clinical trials designed to address unmet needs in the post-approval setting, contribute insights to inform Phase 2/3 clinical development programs of new investigational therapies and execute other scientific initiatives to increase disease awareness and broadly communicate new data and evidence that can help inform clinical practice. Dr. Chan completed her undergraduate training in Human Biology and Toxicology, and her doctoral training in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Dirk M. Elston, MD, FAAD

Professor and Chairman, Department of Dermatology & Dermatology Surgery, Medical University of South Carolina
Dr. Elston is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston. He has more than 30 years experience in healthcare delivery including more than two decades of involvement in health policy, quality, models of care and medical coding. He has testified before congress on physician reimbursement and has worked on behalf of the American Medical Association and the Institute of Medicine on issues of quality, patient access and reimbursement.
Dr Elston is Editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and has served as president of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology. He is an honorary member of both the German and French Dermatological Societies and has received commendation from the International League of Dermatological Societies for his international work.
Dr. Elston is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, completed his dermatology residency at Walter Reed Medical Center and a dermatopathology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is a respected author and researcher having received numerous awards from dermatologic organizations around the world.
Janet Wangari Olivero, PhD
Assistant Vice President, L’Oréal Research & Innovation North America
Dr. Wangari Olivero serves as Assistant Vice President in L’Oréal Research and Innovation North America having joined the company in 2015. In her role, she provides leadership and direction in basic and clinical research focused on skin, scalp and hair loss. She also leads a multidisciplinary taskforce dedicated to ensuring that the research as well as models and methods meet the ever evolving diversity and inclusivity needs. Previously, she oversaw various clinical trials covering multiple aspects of dermatology such as treatment of pigmentary disorders and photoprotection in Skin of Color. Janet received her PhD in cell and developmental biology from Rutgers University and completed 2 postdoctoral fellowships at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health.
